MMUST portal activation

How do I activate the portal? How is a student's account created on this portal? For the first-time users of the MMUST portal, the first step to enjoying all these services is creating an account. Here is a guide on creating MMUST student portal account.

  • Ensure that you have an active internet connection because the process is done online. Choose your preferred browser such as Firefox, Opera, Chrome, Mozilla or any other of your choice and proceed.
  • Visit the website. Once the page is open, click the 'Create Account' option that you will find on the far bottom right corner.
  • Another page will open. Under the registration and employee number, key in your student's registration number and password of your choice.
  • You will be prompted to confirm the password you have chosen. For confirmation, re-enter the password.
  • Click the 'submit' option
  • You will receive a notification indicating that your MMUST Corporate email has received an activation code. Ignore the notification as your account is fully functional now.
  • At this point, you can access the student portal by logging in with your registration number and the password you selected.

    How to reset MMUST student portal account if you forgot your password

    In case you have forgotten the password you have been using on the MMUST student's portal account no need to worry as you can reset the password in the simple steps below.

  • Visit the website and click on the 'click here to reset password' option below the MMUST portal login credentials
  • When you click that option, you will be prompted to key in your registration number. After that, click on the option' email link'.
  • You will receive a notification that reads, 'please check your email to reset your password'.
  • Login to your Gmail account using your MMUST corporate email and password
  • In the inbox, click on the 'RESET PASSWORD' which will, in turn, prompt you to enter your student's registration number and 'NEW PASSWORD' of your preference, two times.
  • Appropriately fill in the fields as required and click 'submit'.
  • Your MMUST account password is now reset, and you can log in with your registration number and the 'NEW PASSWORD'.

  • KUCCPS admissions: This is also known as government-sponsored admission. It is completed through the Kenya Universities and Colleges Central Placement Service (KUCCPS) that was formerly referred to as the national Joint Admission Board (JAB). The body is responsible for admitting students into all public universities in Kenya.
  • PPSP admissions: Every year, the government caters for a few of the qualified students. As a result, some of the students are left with no choice but to be admitted as self-sponsored students.
  • Postgraduate admissions: Masinde Muliro University also offers postgraduate programs, and the admission is undertaken by the Directorate of Postgraduate Studies (DPS) in conjunction with the relevant faculties or schools.
